Counseling

Therapy is fluid and dynamic by nature, and it is my priority to be flexible and adapt my style to the uniqueness of each client. My theoretical approach is eclectic and rooted in Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT) and The Adaptive Information Processing Model used with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).  I am a Certified EMDR Clinician & Consultant.

As a relational-cultural therapist, I view you as the expert in your life.  In my work, I strive to build an authentic & healing relationship that fosters trust and growth.  It is an honor for me to hold space for clients as they process life’s challenging issues and gain new perspective on what may be holding them back from a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

People come to me seeking help for a wide variety of issues. I work with individuals who are experiencing life transitions and periods of adjustment, anxiety, trauma, loss & grief, depression, stress management, relationship issues, performance blocks, career/work concerns, parenting and personal growth.

I view therapy as a partnership between us; a partnership that involves your active involvement and participation.  Therapy is not always easy, but the benefits of therapy have been shown by scientists in hundreds of well-designed studies.  People who are depressed may find their mood lifting.  Others may no longer feel afraid, angry, or anxious.  Client relationships and coping skills may improve greatly. Personal goals and values become clearer.  Clients grow in the ability to enjoy their lives.  I have great hope and optimism that therapy can have a positive impact on your life, as well.

Seeking therapy is an act of great courage.   Whether you are looking for hope after loss or trauma, or you are just ready to move in a new life direction, it would be an honor to walk this path with you.
